Hello Everyone,

Meredith Bebbington is helping to lead a tour of Japan that her father has been running for years.  The detail are below.  

Where: (Kyoto, Hiroshima, Miyajima,Himeji, Tokyo, Nikko)

When: October 28 - November 08, 2002 

How much?: $3800.00 which includes all of the following:

  • escorted tour booked through Japan Travel Bureau Int. (T.I.C.O.member)
  • return Air Transportation (Economy) from Toronto 
  • 7 day Japan Rail Pass (unlimited Train and Ferry travel)
  • Accomodation in Western style hotels (10 nights, double occupency)
  • day passes for unlimited travel on subways and buses in major cities
  • admissions to all listed historical and cultural sites in Kyoto, Hiroshima, Miyajima, Himeji and Tokyo
  • Day motor coach tour of Nikko (World Heritage sites)
  • Tea ceremony demonstration
  • portage costs
  • travel insurance
  • taxes (including airport taxes)

Participants are responsible for the costs of their own food and meals as well as any personal spending money they may wish to bring.

Optional one night stay at a Ryokan (traditional Japanese Inn) in Kyoto with dinner and breakfast included

Optional dinner and night at Kabuki Theatre in Tokyo

Minimum of 14 participants needed to initiate tour

Refundable deposit of $800.00 required by June 28, 2002. Balance due in September.

  • Higashi Hongan-Ji Temple (one of world largest wooden structures)
  • Ryon-Ji (Zen rock garden)
  • Kinkaku-Ji (Golden Pavillion)
  • Nishijin Textile Centre
  • Nijo Palace (Residence of first shogun of Japan)
  • Sanjusangen-Do (Temple of the 1001 Buddhas)
  • Kijomizu-Dera (Pure Water Temple in the mountains)
  • Heian Shrine
  • Hiroshima Peace Park and Museum
  • Itsukushima Shrine/Mt. Misen
  • Himeji-Jo (World Heritage site and site of movie "Shogun")
  • East Imperial Gardens/Imperial Palace (Tokyo)
  • Shinjuku District (including Tokyo Metropolitan Govn't Building)
  • Toshogu Shrine (mosoleum of founder of Tokugawa Shogunate 
  • which ruled Japan for 250 years)
  • Nikko region (revered as centre for Sangaku Shinko-mountain worship)
  • The Ginza (Tokyo high fashion shopping district)
  • Asakuza (Senso-Ji Temple and Nakamise-Dori open air shopping market)
  • Hama Rikyu Gardens
